Prom Ready

Not me but my wonderful and beautiful niece!

I had the honor of doing my niece's hair and makeup for her prom this year! She's so grown up. I wanted to make a layout with pictures she took on instagram and of one I took. I sent a picture of a "peek" of what I was working on and she asked if she could have it. I told her I'd make one for her, too! 

These are the results... my copy first...

As you can see journaling has been done (my thoughts) and I included misting but did not include that in her copy. I don't know if she'll like it or not so I did without...

This is her copy... no misting and journaling has been left blank so she could fill it in.

Happy Mother's Day! (Card)

I just want to wish all the mothers out there a very happy mothers day!

I made four cards this year, same style, same papers (except for one).

Awesome Friends and Cute Little Miss...

It's been a while? School's over (for now)!!!

 There are two layouts I made recently I would like to share (using old pictures)... First one I really wanted to use washi tape and this glitter technique all while keeping it fun and bright.

 
I love it though I think I should've used skinnier letters for the title.

Glitter!

Next up is a layout I made "accidently."  I recently got my first distress ink and wanted to play around with it. I grabbed some scrap papers and went to town distressing it... Well, the papers I pulled seemed to coordinate with each other and next thing you know it's on a layout. I wanted to use the washi tape I bought from target and actually found my picture after I layed everything out (except the title and journaling, of course). And here we have the "accidental" layout of little miss cutie...

I had to cover part of her up! But isn't she just a cutie??

TL Adventure in Galveston

I know, I know, I know... it has been foreverrrrrr! I'll just blame school! ;P

I actually finished this layout a while back and I am just now getting a chance to post it up. I really wanted to use the patterened paper and the border-painting and splatter technique. Just look how well it just all went together! It made me think of tropical so I went with photos from the beach!

Patterned paper (including the one I used for the envelope), letter stickers, and the little flower in the top right-hand corner are by American Crafts. Larger flowers are from Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe collection. The very small/skinny alpha stickers are by Lily Bee Designs, the little sticker embellishments are by Cosmo Cricket, and the polaroid stamp is by Lawn Fawn.

Vegas Layout 4

Finally, the end of the Vegas layouts! Hahaha! If you haven't seen the previous layouts, you can find Vegas Layout 1 HERE, Vegas Layout 2 HERE, and Vegas Layout 3 HERE.

So, last, but not least, layout number four:

I don't know if you can tell, but the background of the layout is on white cardstock. But.... on to the main story.... the mister PROPOSED while we were in Vegas with our friends! To capture the moment on the layout, I printed pictures that a few of our friends posted on Facebook along with their name and their caption and put it on the page. Now that I look at the page... the color combo makes me think of winter. Hahaha! Anyways... "and she said" was cut out from the Sizzix Sizzlits Classic Alphabet. I got it at CustomCrops.com when it was on sale for $5! You can find it HERE if it's still in stock and still on sale. I LOVE it! I don't remember who made the chipboard letters I used for "yes" but I covered it in cardstock and glittered it. There's actually journaling on the bottom left-hand corner but it looked like it clashed, so I covered it with a cardstock flap so anyone can lift it up to read it.

Vegas Layout 3

If you haven't seen the previous two layouts, you can find Vegas Layout 1 HERE and Vegas Layout 2 HERE.

Now, on to layout 3:

 Star stickers by The Paper Studio (also used on Vegas Layout 1). Background cardstock by American Crafts. Vegas cut out with the Cricut from the Tie the Knot cartridge. To make the "burst" I took a 12x12 sheet of vellum and placed the silver oval where I wanted it to eventually be and traced it. I then took a ruler and made lines coming from the center of the oval and made sure I made enough so it would "look right" when I cut it out, and then I cut it. The only places I placed adhesive under the vellum was in the center of the oval. I just used the photos and stars to help keep the vellum in place. Oh yeah, I glittered "LAX" because I love glitter! Hahaha!

Vegas Layout 2

It's time for the second layout I made from my Vegas trip. If you haven't seen the first, you can look at it HERE.

First, we'll start with the "divider" that ties layout 1 to layout 2:

I basically took a 12x12 photo sleeve that held 6 4x6 landscape photos and cut it in half. Don't worry, I saved the other half, just have to find a way to use it. The front shows two group pictures and a picture of the menu, the back shows the food me and the mister had. It was delicious!

Now, for Vegas layout #2:

We were celebrating out 5 year anniversary! I don't think anyone else knew but I'm just glad we got to spend the time with our friends. Cardstock and "year" from American Crafts. I cut out all the 5's and "anniversary" using the Cricut Craft Room and backed "anniversary" with vellum. The bigger 5 I cut out 6 times, glued them together, and then glittered it (it's a little hard to tell in the picture). Metal heart brad by Creative Imaginations.

Vegas Layout 1

Went to to Las Vegas, Nevada in October 2011 with a large group of friends and I managed to make 4 layouts for the entire trip. Here's Vegas layout #1:

Paper, letters, and numbers by American Crafts. "Las Vegas" was stamped on a tag by K&Company from their Smash Special Occasions pad. Border sticker and journaling sticker are from Echo Park. Star stickers are by The Paper Studio.

This layout ties into the next layout with this dividing "page:"

Makes me want to go back just for the food and the oh so delicious Truffle Mashed Potatoes! *drool*

Mother Daughter Layout

I was watching Shimelle Laine's YouTube videos and saw a layout I really liked. The post on her blog for the layout can be found HERE along with the YouTube video. I decided I wanted to attempt this layout and these are this is the result:

I really love how it turned out! (Thanks Shimelle, had to follow it to the t!) All the patterned paper used is by American Crafts from the Enchanted collection from the Dear Lizzy line. Butterflies and doily are from punches by Martha Stewart. Title, "Love," and "a friend always" all from American Crafts. Lace flower was made from trim I purchased at Hobby Lobby. Hearts are from one punch by EK success.

Like I said, I really love how it came out and now I'm waiting to see what my cousin comes up with (we're using the layout as a challenge)!
